But what exactly is a FICO score and how can you increase yours? In this workshop you will learn about credit reports and credit scores and find out what you can do for free to improve your credit. Starting a Business: Thursday, May 22, 6:30-9:30PM.
Come learn the basics of starting a business including how and where to file for a business license and tax ID number, the basics of business financing, methods for building a business network, and the importance of customer service. This one session workshop is a prerequisite for the Business Planning Series.

Women in Construction Matchmaking Event: June 27, 10-12PM. Cost: Free
New Visions, New Ventures is hosting our first ever Women in Construction Workshop. This event will give business owners an opportunity to meet with construction industry specialists and various business development advisors, and representatives from local general contractors in one location. The agenda for the meeting will include Matchmaking sessions with local General Contractors, the Department of Minority Business Enterprise, Crater Procurement Assistance Center and Virginia Community College System. This free event will take place June 27, from 9am - 12pm. Registration is mandatory. Please register by emailing wbc@nvnv.org with you name, contact information, and the name of the class.
